Champion the Cause! When you join the Colorado Mountain Club, our mountains and communities benefit through:

• Support of the most broad-based stewardship and "give something back" program in Colorado. Trail restoration and maintenance work is done with a wide range of land management agencies.
  
• Support of an award-winning conservation program that has worked to protect Colorado's natural treasures and scenic places since 1912.
  
• Support of the goal of CMC's Quiet Use Campaign to unite outdoor users to preserve and restore quiet places in our back country.
  
• Support of the CMC's goal to preserve wildness by protecting forever the last special places where natural ecological processes, primitive recreation, and wildness prevail.
  
• Our Youth Education Program (YEP!) offers unique, hands-on learning for Colorado 's youth. Since its birth in 1998, YEP! has introduced over 5,000 youth annually to mountain environments.
  
• The CMC offers all interested citizens the opportunity to experience the mountains through science, art, literature and recreation.
  
• The American Mountaineering Center in Golden is available for public use. The conference center and the auditorium make ideal locations for a variety of events including weddings, meetings, concerts, and plays.
  
• The American Alpine Club/Colorado Mountain Club library is open to the general public for browsing and research.
  
• CMC's Adventure Travel program welcomes any person on any of its many adventures.

Find Your Passion!
Volunteerism is the lifeblood of the CMC. Volunteers guide the direction of the Club, manage local Groups, organize and teach our schools, lead trips and speak out on environmental issues. As a member, you can volunteer your talents in countless ways. Most of our members tell us they have a more meaningful membership experience when they volunteer. They not only contribute to the mission of the Club but also meet people who become life-long friends.
