The Western Slope Group represents about 100 CMC members located in Western Colorado. We bring together people who love the outdoors and are looking for others to share those interests. In addition to the fellowship, our monthly meetings include educational activities, environmental issue updates, trip reports and programs. Our favorite Activities include hiking, backpacking, camping, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, peak climbs and canyoneering (canyon hiking). The Club periodically conducts educational courses to promote increased knowledge and skills in being safe in enjoying the outdoors. Ask about our current programs. The Western Slope Club meets 7 PM on the 1st Wednesday of each month in the lower level of American National Bank building at 131 North 6th, Grand Junction, using the northeast entry (except in the Summer months when pot luck picnics are held instead).
Our monthly newsletter, The Canyon Call keeps our members informed of upcoming meetings, educational activities, adventures, Club trips and various outside activities of interest to our members. It is published each month.
The Western Slope group takes pride in its long-standing commitment to conservation and environmental ethics. We are involved in issues affecting wilderness preservation, public land access and support trail building and maintenance. Members are invited to become involved.
We hope you can join us for a hike, even if you are not a member. If you would like additional information you can contact the Western Slope Membership, or the CMC Membership Services in Golden at 1-800-633-4417 or cmcoffice@cmc.org, or join us at one of our monthly meetings.
