experience, in both the for-profit and non-profit sector. She most recently
worked as a senior director for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA.)
Katie holds an undergraduate degree from |

on an athletic scholarship. Katie also holds an MBA. Katie has been a professional runner for 8 years
having run in the
last two marathon Olympic Trials. She currently lives in Boulder, Colorado
with her husband Matt Schneider and their adorable Golden Retriever Tollie and is
a member of the Boulder Group. |

Cathy came to the Colorado Mountain Club over 14 years ago amid boxes and dust as
the corporate offices were located in the not yet renovated American Mountaineering Center. Her accounting and finance experience is extensive and includes serving
as Treasurer of several local non profits |

in the past and is currently on the finance
committee for Metro Volunteers. When she isn’t working (which is rarely),
she likes to visit castles and hang out in the mountains with her husband, children
and grandchildren. Cathy is a Colorado native and lives in Golden with her
family and three black and white cats. Cathy has been a member of the
CMC since 1994. |

Shelby is happy to join the team at CMC after years of for-profit financial management in Chicago. She is a new resident of Colorado, but her love of the mountains was developed over years of family vacations in the Rockies, and she has always wanted to make a permanent move out |
| west. She lives in Denver and spends her free time exploring her new home, hiking, running, and enjoying the mountain air. Shelby is a member of the Denver group. |

Olga holds a B.S. degree in Management from Regis University and a Paralegal Certificate
from the University of Colorado. She has over 20 years experience in project management and office |

has worked as a paralegal handling contract management. Olga is the former Membership Services Director for the CMC and former
volunteer officer for the Denver Safety and Leadership Committee. Olga also oversees
project functions and fundraising for the Eckart Roder Education Fund. Her
outdoor interests include fishing, long walks and bike riding. She lives with her
husband, Mike, and their spoiled cat, Muffin. Olga is a member of the Denver Group. |

Formerly the curator of the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum, Chris Case became the editor |
| and designer of Trail & Timberline in September 2008. He is also the marketing strategist for the Club. He has honed visual and creative skills from his background as a freelance photographer. Chris holds a master’s degree in Journalism (with a concentration in documentary photography) from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to receiving that degree, Chris held a communications internship with the Jane Goodall Institute in the Washington, D.C. area. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Colgate University. An elite-level cyclist, Chris lives in Golden. |

Alan Stark has spent 32 years in book publishing starting as a textbook rep at Random
House and then Harcourt. He signed on at Westview Press as a sales manager, moved
to Colorado Associated |

University Press as a marketing manager and then on to Fulcrum
Publishing as their first director of sales and marketing and second vice president. He started his
own publishing company, Travis Ilse Publishers that he subsequently sold to Sasquatch
Books. Next he worked for the Mountaineers Books as director of sales and marketing
and was then hired by Ski and Skiing magazines as associate publisher of Mountain
Sports Press. He is a slow trail runner having come in dead last two years in a
row in the Mountain Race Circuit (1984-85) and has lead three sea kayaking trips
to the west coast of Vancouver Island and usually returned with all the people he
left with. He lives in north Boulder with his best friend Linda and a Portuguese
Water Dog, Mack, who refuses to swim. Alan is a member of the Boulder group. |

Clare became the Conservation Director for the Colorado Mountain Club in 2006, after
working for 5 years as the Club's West Slope Conservation Coordinator. In her capacity
as the West Slope Coordinator, Clare worked to bring together diverse communities
and interest groups around key |

environmental issues impacting western Colorado.
Prior to joining the CMC, Clare taught mountain ecology and environmental issues at the Keystone Science School in Keystone,
Colorado. Clare's professional experience also includes positions with the National
Wildlife Federation and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In addition,
Clare served for 2 years as an Environmental Resource Management volunteer for the
Peace Corps in West Africa. Clare is a member of the Western Slope Group. |

Bryan has worked on conservation and recreation projects his entire career. After
earning his degree from Pennsylvania State University, he traveled to Queensland,
Australia to work for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service on the planning,
design, and construction |

of a long-range hiking trail through the D’Aguilar
Range northwest of Brisbane. Returning to the U.S. with this new experience, Bryan
became a passionate advocate for recreation’s role in the conservation and preservation of natural areas. Bryan is a member of the Boulder
Group. |

Anya spent several seasons working on and leading trail crews for the City of
Boulder's Mountain Parks and Open Space Department. While pursuing a degree in Human
Ecology from Stanford University, she worked on monitoring and GIS mapping with
The Nature Conservancy in Colorado |

and spent six months researching grazing and
land use patterns in the Succulent Karoo Biome, a biodiversity hotspot in South Africa.
After graduating, Anya was drawn to New Mexico where she worked as a researcher
at the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Designated by Congress in 2000, the 89,000-acre
Preserve is known as a case study for multiple-use management of public lands, seeking
to unite diverse stakeholders through science-based adaptive management. In 2006,
Anya joined the staff of the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative as Volunteer Coordinator
and later Restoration Manager, planning and supervising trail construction, restoration
and maintenance projects and public education efforts on Colorado's peaks over 14,000
ft (4,267 meters).
Anya is a member of the Colorado Native Plant Society and is certified as a Leave
No Trace Master Educator. Anya is a member of the Boulder Group. |

Doug has worked in a variety of nonprofit capacities in several western states.
After interning with the American Alpine Club, he managed the programs of the American
Mountain Guides Association for four years. Later, Doug directed a land-preservation
project on the Lewis and Clark |
|
Trail which culminated in the creation of a new Montana state park. In 2001, Doug moved to Yosemite National Park, where he worked year-round
as the assistant manager of the Yosemite Mountaineering School, living directly
beneath the famed Half Dome. Three years later Doug completed the National Outdoor
Leadership School's mountain instructor course, and moved to Lander, Wyoming, to
work at the school headquarters. He happily returned to Colorado and joined the
CMC staff in 2006.
A climber, backpacker, snowboarder, and skier, Doug holds a bachelor's degree in
Natural Resource Management and Environmental Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point. He and his wife, Heidi, live with Molly, their Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

B.S. Life Science Education, Mankato State University, MN, master of nonprofit
management student, Regis University Brenda initiated the CMC's Youth Education
Program in 1999. She was thrilled to culminate |
her past work for regional parks, non-profits and schools
as naturalist, guide, science teacher, outdoor program manager, and Peace Corps/Honduras
community development volunteer. Brenda is active in the Association for Experiential
Education (AEE), currently serving as chair of the Rocky Mountain Region and co-chair
of the Conferences Advisory Committee. She enjoys hiking and back-country skiing
with Bellatrix, the friendly Labrador retriever often seen at the CMC, as well as
watercolor painting in the open air.
Certifications: Wilderness First Responder/CPR (first aid), Leave No Trace Master,
past Colorado Teaching License, Native Plant Master. Brenda has been a CMC member
since 1997. |

Susan fell in love with Colorado and the mountains on her first trip to the state
as a child. She returned for a summer job in Estes Park |

while in junior college
and then returned for good in 1985 with her husband and daughters. She joined CMC membership services
in 2004 and became manager of the museum gift shop in December of 2007.
Starting in her family's business, at a very young age, Susan brings over 40
years of retail and varied business experience to her position. Susan
has volunteered through the years for her daughters activities in school as well
as drum corps and colorguard and spent three entire summers traveling from coast
to coast as volunteer souvenir manager for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps
of Denver. She lives in Broomfield with her husband, Bob, and their 4, spoiled,
but well behaved cats. They have two daughters, Erin and Molly, who are both
in the medical profession. Susan has been a CMC member since 2004. |
