Mark your calendars! The 2009 In-State Outing will be near Marble, CO. This action-packed camping excursion is open to all CMC members. The ISO is a wonderful way to stay in the backcountry without the hassle of planning for food and logistics. Let the camp staff take care of logistics and meals while you enjoy a range of mountain activities and interesting people. This year will focus on conservation and education activities and children are welcome.
Dates:
Session I: July 27- 31, 2009
Session II: August 2-7, 2009
Cost: $360/week for adults; $175/week for children ages 6-11.
Includes: Campsites, meals, activities at base camp including nature study (wild flowers, wildlife tracking, geology, birding, star gazing, etc.) and evening campfires. Outstanding food and spectacular views from camp are highlights!
Location: Near Marble, CO at the Outward Bound base camp. This year there is a rustic lodge with opportunity to eat indoors, indoor shower and toilet facilities. Very rustic unfurnished cabins are available.
Transportation: Carpools will be coordinated from all over the state. High clearance four-wheel drive vehicles are required from Marble to the base camp. A shuttle service provided by Crystal Jeep Tours is available from Marble for $35/person. Must reserve early.
CMCers need to provide: Outdoor equipment for your choice of activities: Hiking, mountaineering, climbing, fishing; and camping equipment, including tent, camp chair, sleeping bag, cot or pad, etc. There are a few spaces available in rustic cabins for $30 per person or $50 per family per week.
Additional Activities:
Participants need to register separately for free CMC hikes and climbs. Choice of daily activities for all abilities, including A-D hikes, rock climbing, fishing, excursions to the nearby sights (such as the town of Crystal and Crystal Mill)
